How Weight Sets the Price
We do not list prices because gold rates change every day. Your bill is worked out like this:
- Gold value: net gold weight x that day's rate for the karat (22k or 18k).
- Making charges: per gram or a percentage of gold value. Fine work like filigree costs more to make.
- Stones: billed separately. Stone weight should not be counted at the gold rate.
- GST: 3% on the total.
See worked examples in our gold jewellery price guide.

Questions buyers ask
What can I get in a 10 gm gold necklace design?
Ten grams can make a short necklace, a CZ choker or a long thin haar with small drops. Hollow work gives a bigger look, solid work lasts longer. Ask for net gold weight on the bill.
How is the price of a 10 gram gold necklace worked out?
Multiply the net gold weight by that day's rate for the karat. Add making charges and stone charges, then 3% GST. Rates change daily, so compare on the same day.
Is a 5 gram gold choker design strong enough for daily wear?
Yes, if the links are solid and flat. Very thin hollow beads can dent. Ask for an extension chain for a good fit.
How much is 1 tola of gold in grams?
One tola is about 11.66 grams. Some shops round it to 10 grams when they quote a tola price. Ask which one they mean before you compare designs.
Is a gold haar design 20 gram possible?
Yes. A three strand sitahar or a long chain haar with small drops can be made around 20 grams. For heavier haars, see our rani haar gallery.
Should I choose 18k for a light necklace?
Choose 18k if the necklace has many small stones, since it holds settings firmly. Plain gold pieces are usually 22k for a richer colour. Check for 22K916 or 18K750 on the hallmark.
