Gold Jewellery Design Gallery for Every Day and Every Wedding

Browse original designs, check the approximate weight and purity, and take the karigar note to your jeweller.

Welcome to a gold jewellery design gallery made for people who actually buy gold: families planning a wedding, daughters choosing a first pair of earrings, and men looking for a chain that lasts. Every design here is original, and each picture comes with an approximate weight, the karat that suits it, the occasion and a short note to show your jeweller or karigar.

Browse by type below. Each group links to a full page with more gold jewellery design images, from small daily pieces to full bridal sets. When something catches your eye, read the note under it. It tells you what to ask about hollow or solid work, back types, stone weight and hallmarking.

We never quote rupee prices, because the gold rate changes every day. Instead, our gold jewellery price guide explains how a bill is worked out, so you can check any quote yourself.

How to Choose a Gold Jewellery Design

Start with how often you will wear it. A daily piece should be light, solid and smooth, with nothing that catches on clothes. A wedding piece can be heavier, set with stones and more detailed, because it comes out only a few times a year.

Next, pick the purity. Any jewellery design gold buyers order will be in one of these karats:

KaratGold contentStampBest for
24k99.9%999Coins and bars, too soft for most jewellery
22k91.6%916Most Indian jewellery, bangles, chains, bridal sets
18k75%750Stone settings, CZ and diamond pieces, modern designs
14k58.5%585Light, hard wearing modern pieces

Then think about weight. Hollow or pipe designs look bigger for less gold, but they dent more easily. Solid pieces cost more but last for generations and give more back on exchange.

Matching Jewellery to Face Shape and Neckline

  • Round face: long drops and narrow jhumkas add length. Avoid very round studs.
  • Long face: wide studs, chandbali and chokers add width.
  • Heart shaped face: earrings wider at the bottom balance a narrow chin.
  • Boat or high neckline: earrings and a short choker, or skip the necklace.
  • Deep round or V neckline: long haars, mango malas and layered pieces.
  • Collared shirts and kurtas: a fine chain with a small pendant under the collar.

These are only guides. Try pieces on and trust the mirror.

What to Check When Buying Gold

  1. BIS hallmark: every piece should show the BIS mark, the purity grade such as 22K916 and a 6-digit HUID. You can check the HUID in the official BIS Care app.
  2. Weight: watch the piece being weighed on a calibrated electronic scale and note the weight on the bill.
  3. Stones: ask for stone weight separately. Stones should not be charged at the gold rate.
  4. Making charges: ask whether they are per gram or a percentage, and compare between shops.
  5. Buyback and exchange: ask what is deducted if you exchange or sell the piece later.

A word on 1 gram gold: in many shops this means gold-plated or micro-plated jewellery, not one gram of solid gold. It can look nice, but it has no gold resale value.

How the Price of Gold Jewellery Is Worked Out

The bill for any jewellery gold design follows the same steps: the net weight at that morning's rate for the karat, making charges on top, and finally 3% GST on the total. Stones are added at their own price. Rates change every day, so compare quotes on the same day.

Many families still talk in tola. One tola is about 11.66 grams, though some shops round it to 10 grams for quotes, so always ask which one they mean. For worked examples, see the gold jewellery price guide.

Caring for Gold Jewellery at Home

Put jewellery on after perfume, cream and hair spray, and take it off before swimming or cleaning with bleach. To clean plain gold, soak it for a few minutes in warm water with a drop of mild soap, brush gently with a soft toothbrush and dry with a cotton cloth. Pieces with pearls or enamel should only be wiped, not soaked.

Store each piece in its own pouch or a lined box so pieces do not scratch each other. Once a year, ask your jeweller to check clasps, hooks, screw backs and stone settings. Small repairs done early save bigger losses later.

Questions buyers ask

What is the best gold jewellery design for daily wear?

Small solid studs, a fine chain with a light pendant, a slim ring and a pair of plain bangles cover most daily needs. Choose smooth designs that do not catch on clothes. Weights of 2 to 10 grams per piece are typical.

Is 22k or 18k better for a gold jewelry design with stones?

18k is harder, so it holds small stones more tightly and keeps prongs in shape. 22k is better for plain gold and traditional pieces. Many jewellers make stone settings in 18k for this reason.

How do I check the BIS hallmark and HUID?

Look for three marks: the BIS logo, the purity grade such as 22K916, and a 6-digit HUID code. Enter the HUID in the BIS Care app to see the purity and type of article. If any mark is missing, ask the jeweller before buying.

How often do jewellers bring out a new gold design?

Most shops add new pieces before the wedding and festival season. A new gold design is often a fresh take on old motifs like mango, lotus and coin. You can also show a karigar any gold new design you like and ask for changes to suit your budget.

Can I take these gold jewellery design images to my karigar?

Yes. Show the picture with the weight and karigar note under it. The karigar can tell you if the weight is realistic for your budget and suggest changes to the design.

What does 1 tola of gold mean?

One tola is about 11.66 grams. Some shops round it to 10 grams when they quote rates, so always ask which they mean before comparing prices.
